[ she's looking over her shoulder as he leads her to the kitchen, wanting to ask him questions about his sleeping arrangements and grandpa napping, but it seems she's too late. ]

Do you?

[ she plants her bare feet on the ground in here, looking around his kitchen. ] And do you cook? I noticed you didn't specify that, Mr Salvatore.

Sometimes. Not always but sometimes.

( it's not always fun to cook for one so he oftentimes orders out or finds small meals to pop into the oven. but honestly, he hasn't been here in awhile to really have cooked for even himself. )

But, I stocked up before you got here.

( which means he's going to cook for her. )

[ her brows lift up in pleasant surprise at that. there's no need to have him read what's between the lines: he had wanted to cook for her. it's been a long time since she's had anyone cook for her.

lifting her finger to her mouth, she bites her nail thoughtfully before dropping her hand. ]

Do you think you can show me what those things are?

[ yes, she's going to drop something so she can pick it up. katherine is nothing but someone who follows through. ]

What things?

( it takes stefan a moment to realize she's talking about — )

You mean the forks?

( he thinks he might have an idea of what she's going to do so he picks a few up and passes them to her. )

They're used to eat and to keep things neat as you eat. Great for spaghetti.

[ she reaches for the forks and then accidentally lets them slip between her fingers. with a mock gasp, she presses her fingertips to her mouth and does her best to look surprised (while very, very amused). ]

Whoops. How clumsy of me.

[ she does exactly as she had proposed: she bends down and grabs them. ]

Wow, what am I going to do with you, dropping my forks all over the place.

( please ignore the sudden flush on his cheeks that's dipping down his neck. he clears his throat. )

Thank you for picking them up.

( and nearly killing him. )

[ she knows she can do better.

with the forks in hand, she hands them out for him to take, smiling proudly at the blush tinging his skin. she thinks it could go redder, but the next time he thinks to drop something, she needs to make sure she's standing in front of him. ]

Here you go. Sorry about that.

[ she's not. ]

You're a little klutzy today, aren't you?

( stefan chuckles and then puts the forks back before retaking her hand. )

Do you want to see the rest of my house or would you like to just drop stuff to pick up?

[ that's a rather enticing offer... katherine would like to see just how long it takes for him to grab her by the hips and help her pick something up. narrowing her eyes, she considers her options and decides she doesn't need to choose. ]

Why not both?

[ he has other things to drop around his house, right? she's seen he has throw pillows, books, a lamp… ]

Do you have a problem with that?

No, not at all.

( she'd just have to be careful or he might end up interrupting the tour for some...other things. )

I just don't want you to throw out your back with all this bending.

[ that's the point.

she arches her brow at him and folds her arms against her chest. the expression she wears is one that implies he's very much in danger, even though the only danger he's in is him bending her over and breaking his own hip. ]

Are you implying I'm old?

Aren't you?

( she was six hundred years old, after all. that's pretty old but she wears them well. he smiles and even reaches around to give her ass a smack. )

Come on, we have more of the tour to enjoy.

[ katherine gasps and laughs, completely taken aback by the smack on the ass. she smiles up at him, partly incredulous, as she grips his hand tightly in hers and gives him a shove when she'd very much rather pull him close and do him on his kitchen bench.

she has time. she'll break it in for him.. ]

Then take me on this tour, guide.

I'm trying but you're just being so clumsy and klutzy that we keep getting delayed.

( but he pulls her along into another room close by. it's a sitting room of a sort. there's comfortable sofa and chairs and bookcases lining the walls. there's a big picture window to let in the sun. )

I like this room.

[ she brushes by stefan, letting go of his hand absently as she steps into his liked room. she walks over to the picture window and looks out at the house's surroundings she'd only gotten a glimpse of when she'd pulled up on the driveway. ]

I can see why.

[ if he had shown her this room first, she wouldn't be standing naked in front of it. it would've been very difficult to try and pull her away from it. ]

Your home away from home is very beautiful.

Thank you. I don't really bring people here. It's one of the few places that I've kept secret from everyone.

( damon doesn't know about it and he'd never told elena. katherine was it. he smiles at her and shrugs. )

I just liked having a place where I could be alone, if I needed be.

It's very you.

[ unlike the boarding house, where everything stefan is drowned out by everything damon. here, he's not suffocated by his brother.

she turns around and walks back to him, reaching for his hand. ]

I like it. And I like that you trust me with your secret home away from home.

( his fingers slip around katherine's and he smiles, giving her hand a squeeze. )

It's not much but it's nice to have some place to go when I really need the privacy.

( he shrugs. )

I'm glad you trusted me enough to come out here.

[ she inhales deeply and shrugs, pulling a face that says well… ]

You asked. It's kind of hard to say no to you.

[ one of her very rare achilles heels. katherine is so grateful that this friendship with stefan wasn't just a farce to try and get the one-up on her.

she squeezes his hadn't and steps into him, resting her other hand on his bare hip. ]

Are there other rooms in this house you want to show me?

Bathroom. Have I shown you the bathroom? It's...you'll like it.

( he grabs for her hand again, starting to tug her along back upstairs towards the master bathroom.

opening the door, she'll find a room that's large and surrounded by windows that let light in. there's a big sunken in tub in one corner, a large shower in another and a sink and toilet in granite against one wall. )

This might be too nice for me.

It's definitely too nice for you.

[ definitely too nice for simple stefan salvatore who seems like the type who would be happy with a studio apartment as long as it was lined with bookshelves. this bathroom is more her style, the katherine pierce who she's crafted herself to be.

she looks around at the space and slowly steps into it, holding his hand loosely behind her before her fingers grow slack and she lets go of his hand. ]

This is so not you. [ it's not said to be cruel. ]

It kind of came with the house. I couldn't really say no because I wanted the rest of the house.

( stefan shrugs, letting her go off and explore the bathroom a little more thoroughly. )

It might not be me but I still use it sometimes. The shower's nice after a long day. Haven't really used the bath.

[ she twists to look back at him, eyebrow arched in amusement. ] Well, I need a bath. I've been travelling all day.

[ she drove for an hour or so and was late, anyway. for her story to work, she'd been travelling all day.

after all, he did give her this opening. ]

All day.

( he knows that she's stretching the truth but he's going to give this one to her. )

By all means, feel free to take a bath. Would you like me to get you something? Wine, cheese, a book?

You can draw it for me.

[ does he think she's going to do it all by herself when she has him here? if he leaves to go fetch her a bloody book, then she feels like she's lost the game.

she walks over to the bathtub and traces her fingertip lighting against the lip. she looks at him innocently. ]
