( his fingers slip around katherine's and he smiles, giving her hand a squeeze. )

It's not much but it's nice to have some place to go when I really need the privacy.

( he shrugs. )

I'm glad you trusted me enough to come out here.

[ she inhales deeply and shrugs, pulling a face that says well… ]

You asked. It's kind of hard to say no to you.

[ one of her very rare achilles heels. katherine is so grateful that this friendship with stefan wasn't just a farce to try and get the one-up on her.

she squeezes his hadn't and steps into him, resting her other hand on his bare hip. ]

Are there other rooms in this house you want to show me?

Bathroom. Have I shown you the bathroom? It's...you'll like it.

( he grabs for her hand again, starting to tug her along back upstairs towards the master bathroom.

opening the door, she'll find a room that's large and surrounded by windows that let light in. there's a big sunken in tub in one corner, a large shower in another and a sink and toilet in granite against one wall. )

This might be too nice for me.

It's definitely too nice for you.

[ definitely too nice for simple stefan salvatore who seems like the type who would be happy with a studio apartment as long as it was lined with bookshelves. this bathroom is more her style, the katherine pierce who she's crafted herself to be.

she looks around at the space and slowly steps into it, holding his hand loosely behind her before her fingers grow slack and she lets go of his hand. ]

This is so not you. [ it's not said to be cruel. ]

It kind of came with the house. I couldn't really say no because I wanted the rest of the house.

( stefan shrugs, letting her go off and explore the bathroom a little more thoroughly. )

It might not be me but I still use it sometimes. The shower's nice after a long day. Haven't really used the bath.

[ she twists to look back at him, eyebrow arched in amusement. ] Well, I need a bath. I've been travelling all day.

[ she drove for an hour or so and was late, anyway. for her story to work, she'd been travelling all day.

after all, he did give her this opening. ]

All day.

( he knows that she's stretching the truth but he's going to give this one to her. )

By all means, feel free to take a bath. Would you like me to get you something? Wine, cheese, a book?

You can draw it for me.

[ does he think she's going to do it all by herself when she has him here? if he leaves to go fetch her a bloody book, then she feels like she's lost the game.

she walks over to the bathtub and traces her fingertip lighting against the lip. she looks at him innocently. ]

Please?

All right.

( stefan comes closer, moving to pull open a small cabinet and taking a few bottles of soap and bubble bath. he holds it up to her and then hands it to her. )

I don't have a lot of bath products so hope that's okay.

( it was citrus scented and would give her a decent amount of bubbles. he'd tested it in the sink once just to make sure it worked. )

[ he'll clearly need to change that if she's to be coming here more often.

she holds the bubble bath and eyes the back of it, reading over the description. opening it, she sniffs the top and pulls a face that says not bad. ]

Did you buy this to never use it?

[ that... sounds like stefan. ]

I...well, if you have a bath, don't you have to have bubble bath?

( even if it never got used, he could say he had it and it was around if someone ever did come here that wanted to take a bath. )

And if anything, I could have used it for something or other. Soap or seasoning or something.

[ leaning forward, she reaches over the tub to switch on the tap. she looks at him over her shoulder with an amused smile and shakes her head. ]

You're cute, Stefan.

[ standing at her full height, she sniffs the bubble bath once more before she pours some of it in. it's probably little too much, but she's excessive. something tells her he doesn't know how much bubble bath to put in. ]

Are you telling me you've never had a bath here?

( he shrugs, wondering if he should feel embarrassed about that or not. it's just...he didn't come here all that often and when he did, he just took showers. )

No, I've never had a bath here before. That's what I'm telling you.

( he wasn't much of a bath guy period. )

Baths are Damon's thing.

Maybe it can be our thing.

[ katherine smiles at him, knowing that, despite what he says, he'll be in the bath with her. how can he resist? hadn't he invited her over just for this?

placing the bubble bath on the floor, she leans over the tub to swish her hand through the water. she turns the tap to make it a touch hotter. ]

Our thing?

( he repeats the words, an undercurrent of desire there before he glances at her. )

You want me to take a bath with you?

[ she laughs kindly. ] I thought it was obvious.

[ she crosses her arms against her breasts and juts her hip out, regarding him with a smile. sometimes stefan is so, so cute. he might be worldly now, but he's still that innocent boy she met in 1864. she likes it. ]

Okay, okay. I'll take a bath with you.

( twist his arm, why don't you? stefan laughs and reaches for the bubble bath so he can pour it into the rising water in the tub. )

It wasn't obvious. I was going to sit in here and read while you took a bath.

You were going to sit in here and read a book while I'm naked and wet in your bathtub?

[ she presses her lips together but her smile still fights its way through. it's so cute how much of a gentleman he is, but he can do that any other time. isn't this little weekend meant to be them being all non-friendly? ]

Add any more of that and your entire bathroom will be bubbles.

I was going to sit in here and read a book while talking to you and letting you rest.

( big difference, katherine. huge!

he pulls back on the bubbles and then sets the bottle down before rubbing his hands together. )

But I won't do that since you've requested my company in there with you.

Boring. [ she rolls her eyes and then stands straighter, wearing a beaming smile. ] My idea is better.

[ and thank god for her ideas. stefan's one is cute, but it's hardly what she wants. shouldn't they be celebrating this new step in their relationship? he finally wants her and she wants to have a bath. one plus one.

she sits carefully on the edge of the bathtub. ]

We can do yours next time. Maybe.

There's going to be a next time?

( stefan doesn't even care that she said maybe. he's more caught on the whole next time thing. it makes him smile. )

I'd ask you to tell me more about the next time but I think I'll concentrate on the present for the time being.

( but next time is a good thing. )

Good.

[ smiling, she reaches out to brush her fingertips against his jawline. even if they hadn't had sex, she'd still feel free to touch him in this carefree way.

she turns around and dips her hand into the water, it almost filling up to the top. she turns the tap off. ]

Cute home owners first?

All right.

( stefan laughs, leaning into her touch before he moves away and slips into the tub. it takes him a few seconds to adjust, to let the heat sink into his skin and then he sighs and looks over at her.

he gestures her closer and smiles. )

Come on. Come in with me. Show me how to take a bath.

If you insist. [ she rolls her eyes with a smile, shaking her head as if this hadn't been her idea at all.

placing a hand against the lip of the tub, she steps in, being mindful of his legs, she remains standing as she faces him, looking down at him in a tub that isn't hers but might as well be.

she slowly begins to lower herself on the other end of the tub. her hands disappear beneath the water before she lifts them up, cupping some of the bubbles in her palms. ]

You look comfortable.

Do I?

( he has to admit, this isn't bad. it feels nice, it's comfortable and she's there which just makes it better. he slouches down further into the tub and sighs. )

I guess this isn't so bad. You look...well, you look like you were made for a bath tub like this.

( it's a good look. )
